The Office for Faculty hosts a New Faculty Orientation every August just prior to the beginning of the Fall semester. This event provides new faculty with valuable information, introduces them to Campus Leaders, and offers an opportunity to meet other new colleagues from across the University.

The New Chairs Check-in is a great opportunity for you to debrief after your first few weeks on the job. This session will allow you to share your experiences and ask any pressing questions you may have as you settle into your new role.

The Retreat to Recharge Fellowship recipients will present on their retreat to recharge activities and outcomes. As a reminder, the Retreat to Recharge Initiative provided funding to encourage groups of faculty to connect with one another beyond who we are as academics.

This training and discussion session is designed specifically for Department RPT Advisory Committee Chairs and will provide information regarding your responsibilities as DAC chair, strong practices for running RPT Committee meetings, managing the writing and revision of your committee’s reports, communicating with candidates, ensuring the required confidentiality, and more.

The Faculty Life series is designed to provide useful information for personal and professional growth for all faculty (career line and tenure line).

This in-person lunch provides Academic Leaders the opportunity to hear from and interact with Campus Leadership including President Taylor Randall, EVP Mitzi Montoya, and EVP Bob Carter.

This workshop is for faculty members in their first or second year post-tenure. Topics include writing External Evaluation Letters, serving on RPT committees, pursuing and rethinking your research agenda, service loads, mentorship of junior faculty, and other topics of interest to the group.

This series provides a forum through which to build infrastructure and share best practices regarding several Associate Dean for Faculty responsibilities, including faculty conduct, RPT, Career-line Faculty reappointments and promotions, and grade complaints and academic misconduct appeals.

This is a year-long working group for all deans at which we share ideas, strategies, and struggles. This is an invitation only working lunch.
