This series provides information for new and veteran chairs. For new chairs, it offers up-to-date information and strategies for being an effective chair. For returning chairs, the seminar is a refresher, one with networking and mentorship opportunities and that allows for regular discussion of problems as they arise. This year, the series is led by Provost’s Faculty Fellow and former Department of Communication Chair Kent A. Ono. Additional guests from across the campus will be invited to address pressing topics.

If you are a department chair, school director, or program director, you will receive an Outlook invitation approximately four weeks before each seminar meeting. If you or someone you know is not receiving these invitations, please reach out to officeforfaculty@utah.edu.

*Regular meetings are scheduled for the third Wednesday of each month from 12:00pm - 1:30pm.*

The seminar aims to provide a safe space for open and honest dialogue among Chairs and Directors. With that goal in mind, sessions are not taped. Any materials shared during the meetings will be made available to participants.
